This is also perfect hiking route for weekend escape from the usual from central Tokyo area. I actually went there following weekend of Mt. Monomi, Mt. Hiwada hiking. It is little shorter and easy going rout that kids also can enjoy. It also takes about 1 hour or so from Shibuya to start hiking. Hanno station Seibu Ikebukuro Line is the starting point of the route. It is before Musashiyokote station by few stops. This hiking course leads you to the same station. No worry about going back home.
