MATCHA at NOON with Tsuki-Me Dango dumplings and Kyoho grape on Mikawa Momen cotton placemat.
Today is the day of “Chushu”, which is August 15th of the old calendar. It is said to be the day we can see the most beautiful moon in a year-“Chushu no Meigetsu”, the harvest moon on the Chushu.
We offer Tsuki-Me Dango dumplilngs to the moon and pray for the good harvest of the year in Shinto style. After that we share the sweets.
Yes, it is the day of viewing the beautiful moon munching Tsuki-Me Dango dumpling!
This month it has rained about twice as much as the average. Since this morning it again was rainy and cloudy until the evening, so I never expect to see the harvest moon this year. We surely finished having the Tsuki-Me Dango dumplings. But with a great surprise, I found the beautiful moon shining from the window on the second floor. How lucky!!
