Mt. Zao in Yamagata Pref. is famous spot for Juhyo Snow Monsters. Since it is the bitterest spot at winter, Juhyo Snow Monsters grows while heavy snow comes from Siberia blows against the mountain. You can enjoy ski or snowboarding along them here, and also hot spring after that. One of the deepest snow area in Japan.

We went there by overnight bus from Shinjuku Tokyo.
The bus left Shinjuku at 22:45 and arrived at Zao Onsen around 6:30. Lift starts working at 8:30.
On the way back to Tokyo, bus stopped at Bussanten highway rest spot. I met local farmers selling fresh vegetable, mushroom and rice. I could not buy them because I have heavy bag to carry, so they gave me flyers. After coming back home, I placed an order and received these, Yuki Kirari white and brown rice and Hiratake mushroom.
