There are kinds of Shinkansen.  Nozomi is the fastest one between Tokyo and Hakata operated by JR Central and JR West.  Major stops from Tokyo are Shinagawa, Shin Yokohama, Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Okayama, Hiroshima, Kokura, Hakata.  Some of them additionally stop at  Shin Kobe, Himeji, Fukuyama, Tokuyama, Shin Yamaguchi
